HOP’s 2022 refections and 2023 directions

As we reflect as a team on our achievements in 2022 we realise how valuable our relationships with so many organisations, schools and higher education institutes in the Humber region are. We are really proud of all the deliveries in schools we have done, campus tours, events and talks etc so we have asked our school and college coordinators to let us know a highlight they had in 2022 and something they are looking forwards too in 2023 or as we are calling it 22 Reflection and 23 Direction.

This is what they said…

Amy Liddy-

22 Reflection- A highlight of 2022 was qualifying in the Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance & Development and putting this to use in delivering 1:1 guidance in some of my schools in North East Lincolnshire, forming more of a HOP presence in these schools.

23 Direction- In 2023 I am looking forward to developing and refining work on the HOP core offer sessions to make further inroads into some of my target schools that have had less HOP delivery to date.

Rachael Holland-

22 Reflection- I really enjoyed doing sessions on UCAS support across 3 further education colleges, alongside organising and running campus visits and tours.

23 Direction- In 2023 I’m really looking forwards to delivering a 5-week programme with full year groups which will also include campus visit’s- something I really enjoyed in 2022.

Amy Rutter-

22 Reflection- A big highlight for me in 2022 would have to be organising and delivering campus visits for students. Ive enjoyed organizing both general campus visits as well as subject specific ones too.

23 Direction- I’m really looking forwards to delivering my year 8 mentoring programme that I worked on in 2022. It’s based all around LMI and careers.

David Stapleton-

22 Reflection- For me in 2022 I have loved helping adults at Grimsby Learning start the journey to Higher Education.

23 Direction- Lot’s of things spring to mind but I’m excited to work with UCAS to help get high quality information on degree apprenticeships to the students that need it.

Sanna Saidy-

22 Reflection- I could pick multiple things as my highlight for 2022 however I think I’d just have to say that my highlight is the huge volume of school engagement achieved by all the coordinators at HOP.

23 Direction- Something that we’ve been working on for nearly 6 months is the Bishop Burton Residentials that’s I’ve led. I’m very much looking forwards to getting these up and running and seeing how we can improve these in the future.

Laura Warburton-

22 Reflection- I started in HOP in November 2022 and I have loved getting to know everyone I’m working with as well as getting stuck in to delivering sessions.

23 Direction- I’m very much looking forwards to starting with a ban in what will be a busy January for HOP. I am also looking forwards to working with the local schools to develop activities.

We have so much to look forwards to in 2023 and all with our mission of offering impartial advice and guidance to students across the Humber. We want to thank everyone we worked with in 2022 and we look forwards to continuing our relationship in 2023!

If you would like to ask any of our coordinators any questions about careers you can chat to them here.
